My hair, the way it grows naturally from my head, is neither "extreme" nor a "fad." It requires neither heat nor chemicals to be professional or beautiful. When is the last time a straight-haired blonde was asked to permanently alter her tresses to gain acceptance in the workplace? Ponder that and watch this video.

40 years ago the image employers wanted to project included the color of your skin as well. Hair is a natural part of your being and to discriminate against natural hair styles is tantamount to racial discrimination.
Thanks for your comment. It is racial discrimination, but the notion that straight hair is best has become so ingrained in all of our minds (black folks, too) that not enough people recognize it as such.
