Tag, I'm it!

If you've been following the game of tag being played around the blogosphere, then you know what happens when you become "it." You get to reveal seven random facts about yourself and then pass "it" on. Mes Deaux Cents got me while I was looking the other way on Sunday. Dang! I've always sucked at tag! Here goes...

1. I am trying to teach myself to play guitar on a black electric that my husband bought me for Christmas a couple of years back.
2. I once attended a party at the White House with Julia Child and Hilary Clinton. (If standing outside the gathering with Secret Service counts as "attending.")
3. I have visited or driven through nearly every state in the continental United States, except for the northernmost reaches of New England, Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas. My friends and I used to take annual two-week road trips and explore different parts of the country.
4. I think I can give Mes Deaux Cents a run for her money with my music collection. I think I have around 5,000+ albums and CDs, too.
5. I am addicted to reading. I read while eating dinner, while watching TV, before the movie begins at the theater, while waiting in line at the drive-thru and sometimes at stop lights. I used to get into trouble as a kid for bringing books to the dinner table. Luckily, my mom is a teacher and my dad was a principal, so they didn't get too angry.
6. I dream of one day having a book published.
7. My hubby and I met on July 4 and were engaged two months later. We've been married for six years now.

Hi Tami,

Did you meet Hillary? I saw Bill giving an outdoor speech once. I was so far away I could barely make him out.

I've been to every state except Hawaii, Vermont and New Hampshire. I bet those road trips where fun. I hope you'll post about them one day.

I'm going to eventually get rid of my Cds. They are just taking up space. My plan is to buy a computer just for music and to dwnload all of them to the pc.

Do you know they have turntables with usb cords so you can transfer record albums to your pc? Liz was talking about an album in a post which reminded me of it.

Don't you think that records sound better than Cd' or MP3s? I do.

Thanks for playing!

Tami,

One more thing. If you get a chance please read my post about "Kindle". Since you are an avid reader I would really like your opinion about it.

Thanks.

Tami, I read a lot, too. What I hated about reading when I was younger, though, was getting really involved in a good book and having to get in the car and ride for a long period of time - I get car sick when I read and ride -

MDC, I did not get to meet Hilary. This event was for a client back in my agency days. After months of working on the event, the client took all the places inside and I had to stand outside. I did meet a lot of cool women (Anita Hill, Geraldine Ferraro, Julia Child, Isabel Allende, Toni Morrison)through the project.

Check your site for my comments on the Kindle.

Lisa, I know other people who get sick reading in the car. I am so glad I don't. A good book has gotten me through many a long car ride.

I LOVE books, too...equally as much as writing :-)

My mom used to always tell me: Come out of that room and interact with the world instead of those books. LOL

I also dream of having a book published, too.

What do you plan to write about for your book?

Sage,

I'm not sure what I want my book to be about. I write short stories, but since I've been blogging I've gotten into writing personal essays as well.

I wish you all the best in journey to publishing a book...whatever the topic!
