It's feel good Friday! (One day late)

Sara Baartman's life is not a feel-good story, but it is an important one. I wanted to leave the video about Sara at the top of the blog for at least a day, so Feel Good Friday had to wait.

I watched a film this morning and I thought it was a fitting follow up to Sara's story. There is so much ugly in the world, but there is beauty and unity and compassion, too. So much evil has been done in the name of religion, but this--this is an example of religion at its best. Here is an example of a Christian, a Buddhist and a Muslim coming together for peace.

I have great respect for the Dalai Lama. Hearing his wisdom makes me feel good, as does learning about his work with Catholic monk Thomas Merton. I hope this film affects you as it did me.

Meta. Enjoy.
