Drove 200 miles today and walked many miles canvassing for Obama in Mississippi, just as I did in Louisiana and Texas. Oh, god, I ache. There aren't words. Then while I was driving back to Louisiana, they called and asked me to do it again tomorrow. Did I say no to Obama? Hell no!
Maybe should have just gotten a cheap hotel for what I spent on gas back and forth over several days...was thinking I couldn't afford a hotel, but I couldn't really afford the gas either - and I did it anyway. As my momma, a Clinton voter, said, "Well, you know, when you owe more bills than you have money, you might as well give yourself the $50 cuz, hell, it wouldn't have fixed those bills anyway, right."
Interesting day. I'm going to blog about it when my eyes aren't crosed. Woman canvasser means I spent the day living my politics - and also being sexually harassed by every idiot who think it's cool to honk at a woman who is walking alone down the sidewalk. Dammit. I see Mississippi boys can be as idiotic as Louisiana boys - and that the sidewalks there are no freer for a woman than are those here. Sigh.
Anyway, just wanted to fill you in. Lots of Obama enthusiasm in Mississippi and we're ready for tomorrow.
Love the video clip. I hate how the Clinton people are trying to co-opt Obama with their 2 for 1 sale - he didn't agree to be sold!
