Colin Powell endorses Sen. Barack Obama

The photo that Colin Powell referred to on "Meet the Press."

This woman's son was an American. I am an American. Americanness is not defined by whether you vote right or left, whether you live in a small town or a bustling city, and certainly not the color of your skin or your religion. The notion that any of these things matter is...well...un-American.

Yup that was great. And his press conference afterwards was just as brilliant. He would've been a great President. I wish he had run in 1996.

I was one who said it didn't matter to me one way or the other whether Powell endorsed Obama or not. However, I may have to rethink that position. The right-wing nuts are already intimating that Powell is a racist by saying he only endorsed Obama because he is black.

Pat Buchanan actually said Powell stepped over other people to get where he got, and that he is biting the hand that fed him. Buchanan was just shy of calling Powell a traitor.

Limbaugh and George Will also said Powell only endorsed Obama because he is black.

Powell gave point by point reasons why he could not stand behind John McCain, and all the right-wing nuts got out of it was that, he only endorsed Obama because he's black. Give me a freaking break.
