Aiyeeee! The third season of HBO's "True Blood" debuts this Sunday! It is unseemly how excited I am. It makes me feel a little less embarrassed to know that Renee, over at the wonderful blog Womanist Musings, is equally obsessed with Alan Ball's tale of blood, sex, intrigue and the supernatural. Of course, Renee and I also share a devotion to analyzing culture through the lens of womanism and anti-racism. So, we were IM'ing yesterday and hit upon an idea--Why not combine our passions?
Beginning next Monday, June 14, at 9 p.m. ET, Renee and I will host a weekly podcast devoted to "True Blood" and our special brand of analysis. Okay, okay, analysis through an anti-racist and womanist lens doesn't exactly sound fun, but ya'll know how we roll: We promise to make it enjoyable. We can talk about biased representation of characters of color and Alexander Skarsgaard's talents (Hee.).
Mark your calendar. And before you tune in, we need your help. We need a name for our podcast. What exactly does one call a podcast like this? We know our readers are creative, so send us your suggestions ASAP, please.
In the meantime, enjoy some of my previous posts about True Blood:
